On March 21 and 22, the stage at the Unitarian Universalist Church in San Luis Obispo will transform into a space of truth, resilience, and healing as My Name Is… brings a real survivor’s journey to life.
This moving production, written and produced by former detective David Norum, is based on the true story of Annie, a survivor who endured 20 years of domestic abuse before breaking free. As a criminal investigator for the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office, Norum worked on countless cases—but Annie’s story was one that stayed with him. Now, through the power of storytelling, he brings her journey to the stage to shed light on the realities of intimate partner violence and the strength required to overcome it.
A Special Thanks to Haven Properties

A Story That Sparks Conversation
Following each performance, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion featuring David Norum and trauma experts, offering deeper insight into the complexities of domestic abuse and the road to healing. This conversation is vital—not just for survivors, but for anyone who wants to be part of the movement to end violence and create a safer community.
