Making a gift in honor or memory of someone is a meaningful way to celebrate a loved one, mark a milestone, or recognize the dedication of a special caregiver, such as a Lumina Alliance therapist or advocate. When you make a charitable tribute gift, Lumina Alliance will send a personalized acknowledgment to the person or family you designate—letting them know of your thoughtful contribution. Tax-smart ways to give

There are several tax-smart ways to support Lumina Alliance, including Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), IRA distributions, and gifts of stock. With a DAF, you can make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants over time. If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA, which counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) and is excluded from taxable income.

Donating appreciated stocks can help you avoid capital gains tax and qualify for a charitable deduction based on the stock’s market value. Consult with your financial adviser to learn more, and if you include Lumina Alliance in your estate plan, please let us know to ensure your wishes are fulfilled.
